SVI Airsoft

During the end of 2007 I read a lot about Airsoft and how it could be used for practice. Dryfire has its merits but I was looking for something that gave a better receipt during "firing" drills. The UK is the leading country in Europe on Airsoft as they are no longer allowed real guns. I did some searching and my choice fell upon http://www.eliteshootingcentre.co.uk/ to build my SVI Airsoft. Zig and Klaus also ordered similar guns.

When they arrived I had to fine tune the sears on all three to make them run well. They have turned out to be fantastic training tools. We've now had them for about a year (Feb-09) and I've probably shot 6000 rounds with mine. It does require cleaning and a squirt of silicon oil about every 1000-1500 rounds or it will jam.

The magazines are very very sensitive and I've already busted both of mine, I've scrapped one magazine to use the parts to make the other run. i've made some modifications and I hope it will run better. Under normal use they do perform well but they will break if dropped or if you by mistake let the follower go during loading, I've done both.

In the picture on the left I've marked where I've reinforcend the magazine by gluing (2 component epoxy) the plastic ball guider (or what ever it's called.

The right picture is an example of what will happen if you by mistake let the follower go, it will shoot the ball guider clean off, ruining the magazine.
