Dust cover:
The gun in the banner above is a 5" gun with a standard dust cover. This option has influence over the overall weight and balance of the gun. With the added weight of the steel grips I suggest a standard dustcover, especially if you are buying a 9mm. I've added a picture of the Butler stirrup cut because it has such an important influence on the Dust cover.
Dalmas 4 - Standard
Bubba- Extended Dust
Bettan- Extended
Dust Cover Fluting:
You could chose this to lighten you frame, but bear in mind that taking weight out of the stationary frame can increase muzzle flip. Also to remember is to check how you grab the slide when you rack it, if you have large hands you might actually grab the frame as well, then any kind of fluting is not recommended.
Frame Material:
For most its a matter of looks, for the experts it can be a matter of options and quality
Carbon or Stainless steel.
Frame Style:
You've already done this selection when you picked the template at the start.
If you want to change it you have to start over with a new template.
Grip Safety:
Stainless or steel, should maybe stainless or carbon
ITI Rail Cut:
For the competitive shooters its purely a cosmetic option, for the operator its to attach laser or lights.
Slide Lock Pin:
Again a steel option. Carbon or Stainless..
Strut:
This is the hammer strut, to me it would make more sense to place it under hammer options. I have titanium on all my guns to get that nano second faster closing time.
Thumb Safety Material:
Stainless or carbon steel
Thumb Safety Style:
I use tactical because of my grip. Wide is very popular and Infinity also has a Competition wide safety which is a thumb-rest style blade, very wide.
